In industrial production, workshop fans play a crucial role in improving the workshop environment and promoting air circulation. However, to ensure its long-term stable operation, proper maintenance is essential. Recently, the reporter interviewed relevant experts on the maintenance of workshop fans. The following are the maintenance points provided by the experts:

  1、 Regular cleaning

  1. Fan blade cleaning: The workshop environment is usually complex, and dust, oil stains, etc. are prone to adhere to the fan blades of large fans. Regularly wipe the fan blades with a soft damp cloth to remove surface dirt. For stubborn stains, a moderate amount of mild cleaner can be used, but care should be taken to avoid the cleaner entering the interior of the motor. Clean the surface of the fan blades at least once every two weeks to ensure balanced wind output and operation of the fan.

  2. Shell cleaning: The shell of the fan cannot be ignored either. Wipe the outer shell with a dry cloth to prevent dust accumulation from affecting its appearance and heat dissipation. If the outer shell is contaminated with oil, you can first use a damp cloth dipped in a small amount of neutral cleaning agent to gently wipe it off, then use a clean damp cloth to wipe off residual cleaning agent, and finally dry it with a dry cloth.

  2、 Check component connections

  1. Screw tightening: Check every month whether the connecting screws of each component of the fan are loose. Especially the key parts such as the connecting screws between the fan blades and the motor shaft, and the fixing screws between the fan bracket and the ceiling or wall. Use appropriate tools to tighten loose screws to ensure that the fan does not experience abnormal vibration or damage due to loose components during operation.

  2. Circuit inspection: Carefully inspect the power and control wires of the fan for any damage or aging. If cracks or discoloration are found on the outer skin of the wire, it should be replaced in a timely manner to prevent leakage accidents. At the same time, check if the plug is securely plugged in to ensure a stable circuit connection.

  3、 Lubrication and maintenance

  1. Motor lubrication: The motor is the core component of the fan, and regular lubrication of the motor can effectively reduce wear and extend its service life. According to the product manual, add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to the motor bearings every six months to one year. Choose lubricating oil suitable for the working environment of the motor to ensure lubrication effect.

  2. Lubrication of transmission components: If the workshop fan has belt transmission or other transmission components, it should also be lubricated regularly. Special lubricants can be applied to the belt to reduce friction between the belt and pulley, prevent belt slippage, and ensure the normal operation of the fan.

  4、 Functional testing

  1. Wind speed detection: Regularly use an anemometer to detect the wind speed of the fan and compare the wind speed data during the initial operation of the fan. If there is a significant decrease in wind speed, it may be caused by damage to the fan blades, decreased motor performance, and other reasons. It is necessary to promptly troubleshoot and repair the problem.

  2. Steering and stability test: Every time the fan is turned on, observe whether the fan's steering is correct and whether there are any abnormal vibrations or noises during operation. If there is a steering error, it may be a problem with the circuit connection; Abnormal vibration and noise may indicate loose, worn or unbalanced components, requiring immediate shutdown for inspection and handling.

Experts emphasize that maintaining the large fans in the workshop can not only prolong the service life of the fans and reduce the equipment renewal costs of the enterprise, but more importantly, it can continuously provide good ventilation conditions for the workshop, ensure the comfort and safety of the production environment, and thus improve the overall production efficiency of the enterprise.
